Window Film Construction

All window film is based on polyester film and is designed to have different properties based on the coatings or layers in its construction. Bekaert currently offers a variety of window films. The reason you might choose one over another has to do with the type of windows, solar heat rejection performance desired and price.

For safety films, thickness and impact performance determine the applications they are suited for. Safety film starts with tough polyester films that are bonded together and coated with specialized metals for solar reflection properties. Safety film is constructed to provide the following benefits:

  • Superior optics
  • Compatible with acrylic mounting adhesive
  • High molecular weight, chemically crosslinked
  • Optimized for peel, shear and tack
